Important Information About How We Respect and Protect Your Privacy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Data Collection, Usage, and Control

HRD Software LLC collects data from you, through our interactions with you and through your use our products. You provide some of this data directly at the time of purchase. During the purchase process, we may also obtain data about you from third parties. We obtain some of this information when you accept the privacy policy and activate our software products.

The data we collect is limited to your name, email address, amateur radio callsign, phone number, fax number, mobile number, addresses, computer ID, computer name, and IP address. We use this information to validate your software entitlements, features, and additional ham radio callsigns.

In order to protect our intellectual property from piracy and verify entitlements to our software and its features, the software activation key is validated each time it is launched with an Internet connection.

Your data does not exist on any systems other than those referenced here. We do not provide your data, or access to it, to other third-parties or service providers.

We realize that you have choices when it comes to the software you use and the data you share. Our software products require that you share some personal data in order to for you to gain access to the software, its features, and the support services we provide. You can decline to provide personal data. If you choose not to provide data required to enable the software and its features, then you cannot use the software.

Systems That Contain Data

HRD Software LLC uses several systems to serve and interact our customers. All these systems are commercially available cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) systems. Customer data may be replicated across all these platforms.

SaaS Providers

These service providers are the processors of data ("data processor") collected from our customers for the services they provide. HRD Software LLC is in-control this customer data ("data controller") for these systems. The software running on these servers is managed by these service providers. Access to this data is limited to HRD Software LLC and accessible by role only on an as-needed basis to provide services to you.

Services Provided: Our main website (www.HamRadioDeluxe.com) is a service provided by UltraCart. UltraCart is an eCommerce platform that provides a hosted website, item catalog, and shopping cart services. It is directly integrated with other service providers that perform payment card authorization and product fulfillment. UltraCart is PCI compliant.

Services Provided: Freshworks is the provider of the following platforms; our support site (Freshdesk), our community forums (Freshdesk), our online manual (Freshdesk), our online chat system (Freshchat), and our virtual phone system (Freshcaller).

Services Provided: Soraco makes the software and hosts the platform that distributes and manages software activation keys for our software products.

Services Provided: SendGrid is the outbound (SMTP) for all SaaS and PaaS platforms used by HRD Software LLC. This platform is also used for email marketing campaigns and newsletters.

TrepStar

Services Provided: TrepStar receives customer orders directly from UltraCart for CD and USB media containing our software. They create the product on-demand and ship it to the customer.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, enter information on our site, and activate our software.

You have the right to be forgotten

You have the right to withdraw your consent and request that your personal data is deleted. The deletion of your data will be processed through a request to our sales department via email. Please visit our Contact Us page.

Software activation keys will not work without this personal data. As a result of fulfilling your request, the software will no longer work. Because we are making that clear up-front, no partial or full refunds will be granted as a result of your request.

Do we use 'cookies'?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law's reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting Personally Identifiable Information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared.

Software activation keys are tied to the email address and cannot be otherwise created

Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to orders.
